WHAT IS DIALYSIS?
A dialysis is a form of treatment for patients with kidney failure as a result of kidney disease. It is a process for removing excess water and blood from the body, simulating the work of the kidney. Our dialysis center is designed to provide the utmost comfort and care to dialysis patients.
Types of Dialysis and its treatment
When a patient has serious kidney problems leading to renal failure, there are sometimes only two options – a kidney transplant or dialysis, of which there are two main types – hemodialysis where the patient is connected to a kidney machine for several hours at a hospital for dialysis in Hinjewadi, and peritoneal dialysis (PD).
Types of Dialysis
Two types of dialysis – hemodialysis and peritoneal
The type of treatment a patient should undergo varies from patient to patient depending on the kidney condition and one type of treatment can be the best for one but not the same for the other patient. Both of these dialysis facilities are easily available in dialysis hospitals in Hinjewadi.
During the process, blood from the patient’s body is passed through the filter in the machine used for this process. The blood flows to the machine, through the filter, and then back to the patient’s body. A solution on the other side of the filter in the dialysis machine receives the waste products from the patient’s body.
Blood is cleaned inside the body in this process. In Peritoneal dialysis patients own body tissues inside the belly known as the abdominal cavity acts as the filter. The abdominal area known as the peritoneal cavity is slowly filled with dialysate (a special fluid) through the catheter and washes around the intestines. The blood stays in the arteries and veins that line to the peritoneal cavity. Extra fluid and waste products are drawn out of the blood and go into the dialysate. Two major kinds of peritoneal dialysis are: Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) and Automated Peritoneal Dialysis (APD)
Dialysis does some of the jobs of a healthy kidney thus it helps the patient with kidney failure, but it is not a cure for kidney disease. The patient might need to have dialysis throughout their life unless he is able to get a kidney transplant.
This treatment is a painless treatment. Most patients on this treatment can lead a normal life except for the time needed for the treatment.
We provide the most advanced care in this region for patients in need of dialysis including,
